Elizabeth Contreras-Martinez
A resident of Devore in San Bernardino County, Elizabeth grew up as the youngest of eleven children in a family led by hard-working immigrant parents. Her father, a farm worker from Mexico, dedicated himself to providing a better life for his family. From an early age, Elizabeth was instilled with values of diligence and excellence by her father’s example, which continues to define her leadership approach.
Elizabeth brings over 22 years of nonprofit leadership experience, specializing in program development, grants management, and community engagement. She holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Redlands and a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Ashford University. Her career highlights include developing innovative programs and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, donors, and community leaders.
As the Executive Director of the Women’s and Children’s Crisis Shelter in Whittier, Elizabeth expanded services for domestic violence victims, increased shelter capacity, and built strategic partnerships to enhance support for women and children. Her extensive volunteer work and success in creating meaningful impact in underserved communities reflect her passion for community-based initiatives.
Elizabeth’s upbringing, values, and professional accomplishments align seamlessly with CASA’s mission to advocate for and empower foster youth. Her collaborative leadership style and commitment to improving lives will drive CASA’s efforts to expand its reach and impact in San Bernardino County.
